Nighttime gas
Posting this here as it only happens at night…at 4am to be precise.
DS wakes and has LOTS of gas and screams and screams. I’ve already cut out dairy and I take acidophilus. I eat no citrus either. I hold his little legs up to his tummy but that doesn’t calm him. The Dr says he’s fine. Can anyone think of anything that would help? |

Re: Nighttime gas
Can you buy gripe water or Ovol over there? Maybe something homeopathic?

I think I'm just gonna ride this storm thru.
He hates gripe water with a passion. Must be bc of me, I can't stand dill or aniseed! |

Re: Nighttime gas
Have you tried Hylands Colic tablets? They work for gas too!

Re: Nighttime gas
I *think* (though recommend doing research more) that I've read mothers say that a massage oil with dill/fennel in it, gently-gently massaged on the baby, can help a lot.

Re: Nighttime gas
The heart-shaped massage works, too, I hear...I know it works for constipation. You lay the baby on his back and put your fingertips right below his breastbone, then move up and out over his chest and come back down over his belly and have your fingertips meet again just below his bellybutton - you draw a heart shape. Apply just a little pressure. You can use some oil if you like. But it can really help. So can laying the baby across your knees and doing a gently bounce or rock...but that's a pain during the night.
Definitely try Hyland's...don't they make tablets specifically for gas, too, not just colic? |
