Re: SO:(DE Thread) POOP
So for those of us (or is it just me?) who can't view online videos, what are the key points? I know that elimination 1-2x per day indicates a healthy digestive tract. Anything else?

Re: SO:(DE Thread) POOP
The other is position basically squatting...but since we can't really doing that on our toilets placing our feet upon a stool so we are in the squatting position so we can properly eliminate all the poop. Also you should be pooping after every meal for a total of 6-12" of poop daily.

Re: SO:(DE Thread) POOP
You know, I've read the "after every meal" thing before but I think it's a bit idealistic. Because that would only work if you ate meals at the same time every day, with the same volume of food at each meal. That's the only way you could make sure your bowels needed to empty themselves 3x a day, right after a meal.
On the other hand, if one of your meals (breakfast or lunch perhaps) was a pretty light meal, then it makes sense that it would take two meals' worth of matter to necessitate one bowel movement. Hey "me" - could you share some of your tips on bowel health and ways to encourage regular elimination without laxitives? And tell us that other thing, about how short transit time for food going through the digestive tract is healthier for you, and why. K thanks

Re: SO:(DE Thread) POOP
Didn't click the link yet, I think 1-2x per day is five, too.
I take de and natural calm daily. I was always regular anyway (except in my first pregnancy when they put me on iron pills) but thee de and magnesium really help my temper. |

Re: SO:(DE Thread) POOP
Okay, maybe it's time for TMI.... I generally find that eating a whole foods diet guarantees elimination 1x per day, and taking my daily dose of DE (2 Tbsp) makes it more like 1-2x per day. Drinking enough fluids is important too.
Alllllllllllllllllllright I'm going back under the radar now

Re: SO:(DE Thread) POOP

Re: SO:(DE Thread) POOP
You know, ever since watching this video yesterday, i have been thinking about what he said about when you don't get all the poop out (which is hard to do sitting the way we do, on modern toilets), you leave toxic stuff in there. And if that toxic stuff sits in there, I'm *sure* it's causing bad things to happen! I totally get that 90% of disease originates in the colon! Plus, isn't colon cancer one of the most common ones? I wonder what the statistics are for colon cancer in cultures where they squat?
