I know a number of people have shared that their pastors or old pastors have been very prospanking. I do not know how our pastor feels about it as I've never asked. He has never said anything in his sermons that would say one way or another or in personal conversation and I have never had a single person at that church ever say anything about spanking (save one person I know well who does NOT spank).

So a couple of days ago I was at church talking with the secretary and the pastor came out to say hello. I said something about my 2 year old and how hard it was to parent him lately. He said, "Shannon, I'm going to give you a little parenting advice." I got nervous because I wasn't sure what he was going to say! He then said, "Enjoy your children because they really do grow up faster than you can imagine." I know a lot of people say that, but he finished with "Love them. Really love them. Have fun with them and laugh. Laugh alot."

I was quite surprised. I thought it was a very wonderful piece of advice and wanted to share that with everyone!

Such true advice!! I need to hear that- Earlier today I was getting a little frustrated because my 7yr ds was being bossy with his brother. I finally told him that if keeps telling his brothers what to do that he was taking my job away from me. I then said that if he wanted mom's job then maybe he should do all my work for the day (me thinking dishes and laundry). Instantly he smiles and says, "Yippy! now I can go on the computer too!":giggle My mom was sitting next to us and we all just laughed so hard.
