Tell me about comfort corners

I want to set up something for DS who is 20 months old. He is our only child thus far.

What would a comfort corner look like for this age group and in what circumstances would you use it?

How would I introduce him to it? And how would I explain its use to DH?

I heard this awesome idea for a comfort corner- fill a jar with water and glitter. As they shake it and watch it settle down, they will settle down, too.

At that age, for me a comfort corner looks like Mama's arms and a boob.

No boobs for DS unfortunately, and he squirms to get out of my arms.

My kids chose their own. They wanted pillows and blankets piled in a corner or to get into the tub of stuffed animals. I'm a-okay with that.
