They are just in PDF format. I have no idea on the Kindle thing - don't have an ereader. It's just for downloading onto your pc and then printing out etc. :)

mamacat

gotcha. So the way it works is you can either read it right off the PC or print out what you want to?

I'm so glad you posted this! I did it the other night, and forgot to come here and share it. I also got ten books for free! :) The site was really slow when I was on (two nights ago, I think), but it was totally worth the wait.

Could someone tell me one of their favorite books? None of them look interesting to me. Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong ones.

Deena--The ones that I picked were the math ones (math problem worksheets are something I would either be buying workbooks for or scouring the internet for anyway), three about ancient civilizations (background info + activities=I don't have to buy the SOTW activity book), and some map activity books. I also got a couple of preK animal-theme books because I might use the activities in co-op. A lot of the books didn't seem relevant outside of a classroom setting, but there were some that did seem useful.

Really dumb technical question...my order went through fine. I received my email with the download links, but I seem to have now way to save them to my computer??? I hadn't planned on printing them all out right now.

Karisa, Did you figure it out? If you open up each individual one, in the bottom right corner there was a way to save them for me

I just went up to the top left (File, I think) and went down to Save Page As & then saved it like that :)

I did figure it out, thanks. My wonky internet wouldn't let me save if I had already opened the file, but I could save from the cscholastic ordering page. :)

Should I save them right away or can I wait until ready to use?

---------- Post added at 01:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:08 PM ----------

Also I never got an order confirmation email so where do I go to access the ones I bought? They gave me a confirmation number when I placed order so know it went thru

Right after the order goes through, it has a little link to access the downloads. Or you can go into your account and there should be an area for downoladable purchases. I saved them right away (right clicking, then saving target as)

It worked for me. There are fairly schoolish for a homeschooler but I liked the ones with poems and songs and the mini easy reader books. Also some of the math pages looked fun.

So is there an actual way to download them TO the computer? When I tried it just used up one of my downloads and now says that I only have one download on that book. :( When I did the save page as button it just saved the link and required me to download the book again from the site.

I had a hard time with that too, Cynthia. The thing that worked best for me, is to go to the Scholastic Express website and go to "My Downloads". Then right click on one of your selections and use the "save target as" choice. And, depending on what kind of internet you have, I had to wait until a low traffic time, before mine would go through. I hope it works for you!

For me, when I downloaded the file, then hovering the mouse down at the bottom center of the open file, there is a icon to save. I lost that recently with adobe and had more trouble printing and saving files! I don't know why they made it hidden!

When you get your list of download links, right click on the link for a book, select "Save Link As" make sure it is saving it as a PDF and then select a location and rename the file as you would remember it and click Save.

Maybe we were crashing their site and ruining their other sales.

LisaMarie

The 20th is what it said on the site! Maybe they had too many people using that code and they pulled the plug early! :( Sorry!

Grrrrrr. I had picked my ten and entered the code last night, and it was accepted. I was on a public network, so I waited to get home to enter my info. I'm super bummed.

When I opened the pdf in my pdf reader (most people use adobe), I just went to file>>save a copy and put it in a folder on my desktop.

klpmommy

I can't get them to download. I go to file & I don'y have "save a copy" as an option. I have "save as" but it doesn't work.
