I can describe how I feel after ten years of parenting. I feel as if someone beat me up, mugged me--took everything I had--and left me for dead.
Another mother I know told me a few years ago that when your youngest child goes off to Kindergarten it feels as if you're coming out of a tunnel. I understand what she means now.
I am dealing with some special needs in my children, but nothing to the extent of what some moms are dealing with.
I've brought some of it on myself with perfectionism, pursuing further education, always having a job of some sort whether at home or away (and sometimes both) and a husband who has consistently worked 50-80 hours per week for the past five years.
I'm ready to relax and enjoy the rest of the journey.
This may or may not show up as a blog post next week. :shifty
