It's super stinky because of the heat. Any ideas to prevent this the rest of the summer? No ac in the car :(

Buy a new wetbag that has sealed seams.

The new Rumparooz ones are awesome.

A cheap styrofoam cooler full of ice (in its own plastic bag), for the wet bag with sealed seams.

Probably should have added here are no funds to buy new one. I have two wee be gone hobo bags. They're in great condition and generally a wonderful wetbag. I need to make them work despite cooking the diapers in the sun all day blech.

It was this very issue that made me not CD while camping- where to store the dirty diapers in the heat? I'm interested.

I'm wondering if simply using some essential oiswill help? At any rate I'm soaking some that have been in the car baking for 29 + hours while I was at a birth. They smell like road kill.

They should wash normally.

There isn't anything you can do but lower the temp of the bag somehow. It stinks because the heat makes the bacteria breed faster. EO's won't stop that. It'll be perfumed stinky.

See, without a way to lower the temp, I was wondering if eo's might mask the smell of cooked urine. (eeeewwww) I'm usually not out for 36 hours straight like I was, so it's not normally an issue :wink

I'd be leery of using EO's just because if they don't wash out completely, they can be very irritating to skin. Especially sensitive baby skin.

Seconding Rabbit's small cheap cooler suggestion. :yes
