I have a lot of prefolds that are about an inch or so longer than newborn prefolds (a la GMD). I have about 40 of them and was thinking about taking half or less and sewing them down to newborn size so I don't have to buy any more diapers. Would you do it? It seems entirely practical, but I wan to make sure I'm not missing something.

Is your ds still using them? If not, I think that would work. I have used two dozen prefolds in each size for ds and that has been more then enough.

Hmmm I'd be more apt to sew velcro or the likes so you can size up when new babe outgrows them. Or just prefold them down so they last longer.
