Is there any way to re-waterproof the PUL in my BG pockets? They are definitely leaking through the PUL....

I think you can wash them on hot and throw them in the dryer. The heat helps them re-seal, if it can be done.

I have read that you can use waterproofing spray (for tents) on them and it helps reseal them. I haven't ever tried it though.

Double ditto a hot spin in the dryer. That fixed our leaking problem!

okay so what if the PUL is peeling off? i just swapped mine for someone who was needing swim dipes anyway, but several of our dipes were delaminating.

I'm wondering about this. My FB's are cracking apart, no longer leak-proof. My DH's first reaction was to spray something like this on them. Um, is that safe? Is it the same chemical as the original? Where can I read more about this?

iirc, the original is waterproofed using a lamination process. i suppose if you're super worried about chemicals/etc, then you might want to avoid the spray, but the bottle said it was safe for all kinds of fabrics. i did it outside and after it all dried, there was no smell or anything....

The original is polyurethane. The same stuff laid over wood gym floors. It's relatively inert, but it's a petrochemical.

I don't know anything at all about the ingredients of a waterproofing spray.

me neither, and I have never done it, but I have heard of women doing it.

Ive done it and it lasts for about 4-5 washes. Not really worth it IMO.
