Inspired by this blog (some really, really good stuff in there :heart), http://www.prudentadviceformybabydaughter.com, I thought that it would be such a lovely keepsake, to create a book/journal in my own handwriting with some nuggets of wisdom, advice, things I always want him to remember...

If you were to create a book for your child, what advice would you pass along?

Good question. I've tried several times to write a journal for my kids and failed miserably. My friend Mark wrote a book called, "My Dear Son". It's pretty interesting. He is punitive but apart from the chapter on discipline, the rest of it's pretty good.

I should think about this further. I do think that the impact would be greater getting a legacy like this from a father, than a mother, for a boy. Maybe?

That's a good point.... although it probably would make for a more meaningful legacy if it was from his father - this is totally not something dh would ever do.. hmm....even though dh is totally NOT into writing anything down, I can certainly help him out with it.... and it could be from both of us... :)

Oh and thanks for the link!!

I keep a journal for my kids w/ some advice, but mostly me telling them about themselves- what they like and don't like, funny things they say, etc.
