We would like to set up the crib as a side car to our bed. (Ds rolls around a ton in his sleep and we need some space) I was looking at the online instructions and they have the bungee hooked to their mattress handles. The problem is, our mattress doesn't have handles and I can't figure out another way to attatch it safely. Any suggestions?

Since the bed & crib are up against the wall, we didn't actually attach the 2. We just make sure that our bed is securely against the crib against the wall.

I did see another set up that used a toddler bedrail in the crib. The straps run under both mattresses and attaches on the opposite side of the adult bed keeping the mattresses together. http://purplekangaroopuzzle.blogspot.com/2005/07/sidecar-crib.html ~HTH

We just did this and had the same problem. Run the bungee cord under your mattress and then just hook it to the bottom edge of the mattress (on the furthest side away from the crib). On our mattress it pulled in enough to be secure. My only problem now is that I have a crack I need to figure out how to get rid of.

We didn't bungee ours either. It is wedged between our bed and the wall. we put a pool noodle between the mattress and the wall side crib rail to eliminate the crack.

This is what we had for a while, and I just made sure our mattress was shoved tight against the crib every night (not that there ever was a gap anyway, just being careful ;) )
