Stripping refresher

OK... so I've ben reading up and I think the reason why my pockets are leaking (well SProuts pockets LOL) is because they need stripping. When I wash them normally they get a nice hot wash and then a cold one with white vinegar. I cannot buy Dawn stuff that everyone talks about anywhere in the UK and I#d like to avoid boiling if possible.
