How do you do it?
Every 1-2 hours last few nights. If I give both breasts at the first waking it's every 2 hours but regardless, it's 1 hourly by 4am onwards...

That's really very normal. It's possible that your LO is cluster feeding due to a growth spurt. :hug

It's funny because if we have something on during the day she can go three hours between feeds - I wish she'd do her clustering during the day!

At least it helps keep you from getting pregnant. :shifty

Not getting my period is the only thing that keeps me in perspective when doing nighttime feedings!

KiwiMama - :hug2 I know how you feel because my lo does the same thing!!!

:yes2 That is normal. Try to nap when the baby naps if you can (easier said than done.)

It was at 3.5 months that J started waking 1-2 hourly :yes2 Seems to be a trend...

So when did things change back to longer?

eerrmm.. well-- he's 2 now and still wakes 3-5 times a night :shifty I'm told by mama's who've had babes with the same pattern that things usually start to calm down around 2.5 to 3 years old. BUT-- your bub may be completely different :yes This may just be a big growth spurt. Although the pattern you describe (hourly after 4am, big change around 3.5 months, etc) is J to a T.

Has anything changed recently in his life? Are you eating different foods? Has he been in an extremely chlorinated/toxic environment? It your home tense at the moment?

She's just learning to roll over both ways (so we're getting more EC misses too). Also, I pumped one ounce of breastmilk every day for the last 3 days (the same number of days things have been particularly bad) so maybe she was missing that extra milk and trying to increase my supply to make up for it? My husband has a lot of sniffing and sneezing - possibly due to the cockroaches in the house...

I find waking hourly after 4 am to be very normal for young babies. Mine often wake every half hour by dawn. :yawn

I would try skipping the long daytime stretches. I would offer to feed every 2 hours even if baby seems content. see if that gets baby to cluster durring the day and save the long stretches for the night. it may or may not work, but thats about all you can do at this age.
