Super stinky pail

What do you do to keep your diaper pail from being too stinky?

I expect a whiff of diaper smell when I open the pail, but lately it's been stinking up the whole house! Gross!

Wash often, especially during warmer weather.

Baking soda (plain or scented with EO).

Airflow actually makes less stink. So sometimes keeping the lid off the pail, though somewhat counterintuitive, makes the stink less.

On an older child tho, I sometimes resort to storing the pail in the garage.

How often are you washing dipes?
I have been washing every 2 days since I started last week (I don't have a huge supply) , and I have a lot less stink than when I did disposables and the bag stayed in for up to a week.
