Do you wash prefoldds with pockets?

I just read on the cloth diaper whisperer that it is strongly recommended not to wash them together because it wears out the pul sooner? :scratch

Doing two separate loads of diapers just seems really inconvenient. :/

Meh. I think putting PUL through the dryer is what wears them out sooner. We wash everything together. :shrug3

The only thing I could think is that a prefold could stand up to a hotter temperature than a pocket diaper or cover in the long term so if you wash your prefolds really hot it could be a problem.

I wash all my prefolds and inserts (and only one BG Organic One Size diaper) on hot. I then wash all covers and pocket covers separately on warm, because I dont dry my pocket covers or prefold covers, I hang them.

I wash my prefolds and FB's on 2 complete cold cycles, then dry the prefolds in the dryer and hang the FB's up.

That's what I do. You're right, too much work -- and too much water wasted -- to do separate loads.

I washed everything together on hot and I used a bit of bleach :shifty (once we went through staph and found it was the only thing that really worked) had no isses..

:yes This is probably what I'll end up doing when I have two small ones in dipes- it'll be 2 loads no matter what...So I'll wash the BG shells and dipe covers in one load and the inserts and home made dipes in another load. ...I hang dry all my PUL stuff - maybe popping the BG's in once a month to give the velcro a little extra stiffness.
