when, after completing an entire week of a housecleaning routine, your four year old runs from room to room then exclaims:

"Wow, Mommy! The house looks WONDERFUL! It's so CLEAN! Thank you, Mommy, for cleaning the house so I can run and play and not trip over anyt'ing."

:shifty Not saying mine just did anything, but, hypothetically, y'know, if your four year old did this, chances are your house was in pretty bad shape. :shifty

That's how I get my older two to help clean up - "No, you can't get that toy out - there's no where to play!!! Let's pick up toys first & the you can keep playing" :yes

I remember when my children were at their grandmothers for a weekend and DH and I declutterd a bit and cleaned while they were gone.
When they got back, they ran through the house, jumping up and down, saying it was just like "Extreme Home Makeover".

:giggle Dd told me that the bathroom was "too stinky" and when I cleaned it she said "THANK YOU FOR CLEANING THE BATHROOM, MOMMY!" for a week afterwords, every single time she used it. :shifty

Or for us it was, "Mummy are we moving soon? You only clean like this when we are going to move!" :no :shifty :giggle

It's bad when you 2yo sees you mopping and asks "Who's coming over, Mama?". :lol
