number of medium or one-sized diapers needed?

I'm all set on smalls, loving cloth diapers so far (two weeks :rockon ) and looking into what I will need for mediums or one size diapers. How many diapers do you recommend for mediums? And when should I expect to need to use them? TIA

My personal preference is two dozen fitteds and one dozen AIOs for older babes. You could get by with two dozen. I like having extras for a cushion to keep us from running out before laundry day.

We wash every two days and I use about 12-16 diapers. We use sposies at night though.

We have 24 medium, cause we got a good deal on them, but really I don't think you'd need more than 16.

I think 24 is the usual reccomendation. We did well with 24 :)

well, right now I am washing every day w/ no problem, but no guarantee that it will always be like that, kwim? So right now it seems like I have way too many smalls, but I know that if I was unable to do a load one day I wouldn't be feeling quite so much of a cushion, although I would still be okay.

So far looking like 24ish is a good number.....

if you can afford 24, then :yes I'd go with 24. I think 14 should be a bare minimum.

As for when you might need mediums, it's a crapshoot. Celeste wore (and admittedly swam in) mediums starting at 4mo. She can still wear those same mediums today at 29m, although I moved her to larges several weeks ago for comfort.

I have about 18 pockets, 5 fitteds and 3 covers. That is more then enough. My dd2 started wearing medium Fuzzi Buns at about 4 months. At 16 months she is still only on the 2nd snap with a lot of room to grow.

We have 16 pockets and wash every 2-3 days--IMO I wouldn't want to go longer than that because the diaper pail starts to get stinky! My ds started in the mediums at about 4 mos. and is still wearing them at 17 months with lots and lots of room! But the poor child has almost NO bottom. :lol

The problem for us with having 24 is we're more tempted to leave it a few days before washing, but then the stains and smells set in more. With Kaya and Lana I only had 12 diapers so I always made sure to wash every day and they stayed so much freshed. That's just me though. It is nice having the extra for when we don't have the opertunity to wash, btu we do tend to take advantage of that too much hehe. 24 is plenty.
