I am helping a friend who is pg start her first cloth diaper stash...she wants to use prefolds and covers. I was thinking she would need a minimum of 2 doz infant prefolds and 6 covers. Does that sound about right?

Of course if anyone has a newborn stash they are looking at getting rid of she might be interested ;)

Yes 2 dozen should be good. I had a dozen with Sam & it wasn't enough. Newborns use about 12 dipes a day & doing laundry EVERY day is tough on a momma.

It depends on how often she wants to wash. 2 doz would definitely work.

Check out www.clothdiaper.com They have seconds for pretty cheap. Their shipping is really high but particularly if you're buying more than one dozen the savings are well worth it.

I've never ordered from them personally but have heard good reviews about their prefolds on diapering boards.

2 doz minimum but 3 doz better and between 6-10 covers... this of course will change when the baby is older and can go longer between changes. Gosh knows she doesn't want just a doz cause I did that at first and it almost killed me washing that much with a tiny baby :phew
