For years, he's been iffy on the prospect of hsing. I always felt that he was humoring me talking about it.
So we decided to hs dd for at least kindy and first grade.
Then I got cold feet and saw how happy she was at her one day a week mother's day out program, and thought she needed school. So I stopped by elementary school and got the enrollment packet.
That evening, he patiently went through all the reasons why he thought hs was going to be better for dd, for me, and for the whole family (focusing on family relatinships rather than peers).
I couldn't believe it! He is totally sold on tailoring her education to her learning style, learning more in less time, not being tied into the culture of obeying orders, and everything else I;ve been spouting for years.
Who knew?

We went to Kindergarten roundup in April. That solidified it for him. He didn't like the atmosphere and the high, high expectations on such young children, and the mention that they played outside or in the gym "once or twice a week". Every child needs to play every day. Oh, and you know how kindy teachers are? They tend to talk down to everyone, like nurses do. He really hated that. So he didn't want her to go to that school! Private is NOT an option, and I have a feeling he'd think they were "too religious".
Add the 7:45 start time, and yeah, it's too much hassle honestly.
Throw those into the mix for your dh!
