OK, so on another board I go to, a lady was asking for alternatives to spanking. So, I explained about logical and natural consequences, and the differences between the two and how they work. So, at any rate, she asked, "Does that really work, I mean, honestly work?"

I told her...

You know, I was shocked, because I doubted as well. But my children behave better now, than they did when we spanked. See, with spanking, my kids learned when and how they could misbehave. Their goal was to misbehave without getting caught. With logical and natural consequences, my children learn HOW the world works, and HOW to function well in it.

She came back and said, "That makes so much sense. Thank you"

OK, so not to toot my own horn, but YEAH ME!!! :mrgreen

That is great! I, too, want to file that for future reference. It really explains it so well and I can totally see this in kids who are parented punitively.

Blessings,
Mary
