:tol Dd is saying "Don't want it" or "Don't want to". It's ok when she doesn't want to eat something or is done eating but now she's telling me that when I want her to do something: me- 'pick up th curlers' dd- 'don't want to'. I guess it's good to know what she's thinking but it is driving me nuts! I am saying "Yes, I see you don't want to but that is what we need to do right now." and then help her. However, it is going to be a real hot spot with her daddy so what can I do to help her (and him)?

Being silly helps. :) "I don't want to either. I want to sit on the floor in my underwear and eat cookies." ;)

Helping her is fine. Another idea is to not ask her, but to say "we need to pick up the curlers, do you think you can do it before I count to 20?" and make a game out of it.

You can also say "Try again", and give her the right words to say. :)
