I grew up in a home where we were spanked if we were "bad" and when I had my first baby I was told that CIO was good for their lungs :hunh and also..."my, that baby is growing out of your hip".
I really wantto find a book that is AP....there are so many books out there and many, after you start into them, have punitive teachings.
Anyone have suggestions?

Definately start with "The Discipline Book" by Dr. Sears.........the man who coined the term AP..............now he does do a chapter on spanking, but he HIGHLY recommends to NOT do it!!!! :tu

We have a list of books stickied in the Gentle Discipline forum. My book is very pro-ap and so are the Sears books. Jane Nelson's Preschool book is the only great PD book that is not really pro-ap that is listed over there--and with that warning ;)
