Yes, actually, I am sitting here browsing homeschoolreviews.com instead of packing. :shifty

I'm on the hunt for some grammar, for a roughly fourth grade level, for a kiddo who already knows the basic nuts n bolts (parts of speech, etc). He's a stair step learner that despises a spiral approach, and loathes extra handwriting (I often let him type it instead).

I'm really liking the reviews for the Rod and Staff English books, but I haven't seen much mention of compatibility with non-Amish/Mennonite biblical views. I guess mostly I don't want it contrasting my egalitarian views.

Any great grammar books to reccomend? Anyone have experience with R&S?

You could look into Harvey's Elementary Grammar. It isn't a spiral approach, but it does take some work coming up with practice for them.

I have heard that Rod and Staff is excellent, and that's what I was going to recommend.
