Computer gurus. . . . .I've got internet access. Obviously. I'm here. But, now MSN messenger isn't signing in. :hissyfit :hissyfit It says that a 'local area connection is unplugged', but, it isn't, otherwise I wouldn't be here. What is going on?!

This is a recent occurence yes? My msn messenger is spazzing out today too, it did one day last week as well. I ignored it long enough that it went off my toolbar lol, but it was giving me some kind of not connected message. I think they just upgraded it recently or something.

What version of Messenger?
Do you have a firewall?
Do you use Windows XP?

I had 6.2 (I think) and it made me upgrade to 7.5 to even try to sign in.
If you go to Tools|Options on 7.5 and select "Connection" on the side menu, there is a "Connection Troubleshooter" you can run.
The funny thing is that it complains about my connection needing to fix my default gateway even though I was able to connect just fine?

If you have a firewall, then maybe it has been changed to block MSN.

I'm sorry that I am not much help. I hope you get it fixed.
