For 15-35 pounds, it says.... has anyone tried this one?

Me!!! I LOVE this thing. It's been a total lifesaver. I was quite upset when hope didn't fit in her Snugli anymore (although, I do have to say, I do believe we'll try out a wrap next time). I have had it for several months now (bought it after they replaced them after the recall) & use it all the time. We've used it at the grocery store, the mall, the airport, & even during our trip to NYC this past week. :tu I highly recommend. Hope loves to be in it, too and she seems very comfortable, too. The shoulder pad is very comfortable & I've worn her in it for several hours before when she wasn't feeling well.

*Edited to say: Hope is now 20 pounds (at 18 months). I don't think I'll use it all the way up to 35 pounds as am I am rather petite and by the time she reaches 35 pounds at this rate she'll be 4 and half my height (she's long and skinny). ROFL.

No, but it looks great! And much more affordable than some of the others.

I tried it in the store and walked around in it for quite a while there (20 minutes or so). It hurt my shoulder. I like my ring sling lots better!

For that price, you can get a hotsling. I think pouch slings are really comfy in the hip position.

I like those but I don't think I can handle a 25 pounder in one....

I have something similar - it's a Hip Baby, from http://www.walkingrockfarm.com

It's $$, but the shoulder strap is cushy and doesn't slide. I love it, and dh does too. The hip belt (which this one and the Hip Hammock both have) makes all the difference in carrying dd, who is now 24 lbs. We used it heavily for about 6 mo, when she was walking, but not able to walk very far or very long. Now we use less, because she's fully capable (and wants to!) walk much longer distances (our entire 1 hr grocery shopping trip, for example). But it still gets heavy use around the house, especially when she's "helping" dh to cook.

How can you fit a newborn and a 25 pounder in the same size hotsling? I was thinking of buying a hotsling next time we are pregnant for the next baby but if its all stretched out I would be afraid it would be too big. At this rate I wonder if I won't end up with two different slings for small and big babies.... is that crazy? I already have a Snugli but it kind of hurt my back as soon as he got over 15 pounds.... :giggle

I haven't slung a newborn but I haven't noticed and give with my 32lbs toddler. I personally prefer a ring sling if nursing I can't manage it in a pouch.

I still like my $20 sling for my 28-lb dd and I'm pregnant even. :shrug I do the hip carry. I'm not sure what is "better" about the playtex one? :scratch

I do know with the Hip Hammock, there is no possible way you could use it pregnant. The bottom strap just wouldn't be comfortable.

Because when you wear a newborn, their whole body is in the pouch, but when you wear an older (bigger) baby on your hip, only their bottom is in the sling. :)

I have the hip hammock and I found it really pulled on my shoulder as well. :( But my dh really liked it, so I kept it. :shrug

It look's reallu uncomfortable to me, like all the weight would be dragging on your neck and shoulder, insread of spread over your back.

I 2nd the recs for a pouch. :tu And Hotslings are so cute!

put in 'pouch sling' on ebay- there are tons of wahm who custom make them. i got two of mine from STormy (lovely mama www.lovelymama.com)) from this board. My black cotton one is great for this weather and was a little over $20.00. I got it from ebay, I hope she doesn't mind me sharing that :). They are GREAT and very cute. I LOVE my rose print curdoroy one, but it's really a winter one, as it keeps baby kind of warm :).

I bought my $20 sling from Jan Andrea at www.sleepingbaby.net... she has a $20 section.

http://www.sleepingbaby.net/shop/products.php?id=10

But I also made one for less than $20 using a pattern from her baby crafts section...

Also, here is a page about the hip carry...
