anoher GCM mom was telling me about the charter school she works for and plans to enroll her kids in.

Becuase i am poor and yet need to be aligned with an isp, register as aprivate school, or go through the public school - this sounds like a great option. They will help me take care of records and such and I don't have to pay for it. Plus there is an allowance each semester for educational expense.

I know this option is not for everyone but it seems to give the right balance between accountablity and freedom that i need.

Any one else ever use a charter school, and what did you think?

I do, and it works for us. :tu Every charter school is different and the way things are run vary greatly, but with the one I am in, we have money to pay for extra classes like swimming and karate, and we have extra money for supplies too. I like the freedom I have to say a curriculum isn't working and try something new without losing money. With my son, I have had to make many changes to find something that would work for him.
