Do any of you all use saxon math....I am specifically looking at 4th grade. If you do use it, is 4th grade some thing that you could give your child, say--read the lesson then do it? I had heard that from someone and was wondering if it was possible?
I know that Saxon math is slow, repititive but Isaac needs that. :)

Yes, I think it's very conducive to independent work. :tu The only thing about Saxon though is that I would supplement with a more modern practice book for some of the things Saxon doesn't cover extensively like graphs and charts, etc.

We are doing Saxon 3. I love it!! I don't know about Saxon 4, but I like the meeting time that they have and the lesson. I choose to do most the meeting time with him. It is about a half an hour for us, but we could skip it and be okay. I just see how the meeting time is benefiting him with his math. :tu
