I know that it's a literature-based curriculum and I've heard CM homeschoolers mention it, but I don't use it.

Do they have an email list where you could ask questions, or read how people who like it are doing with it? You might go here http://groups.yahoo.com/ and do a search for Tapestry of Grace.

I know tons of TOG users. If you'd like to correspond personally with someone who uses it, let me know. I can think of a couple of ladies who would give you a pretty honest answer about it... ladies who have used other curricula as well and can give you some comparisons.

I've seen it, and I'm pretty impressed. We considered it for ds, but have decided to wait until later in his elementary school career. We'll probably consider it again around 4th grade. I am also acquainted with the author; she attends our church and I know her kids pretty well. If they are any kind of advertisement for her curriculum, I have to say I'm pretty impressed.

lenswyf~

I'd love to hear from someone who personally uses it. From what I've seen, it looks fantastic. I, of course, wouldn't really be at a point to use it for a bit (my oldest is just K). When I discovered it, I thought "WOW!".

I don't have any real specific questions, just wondering about people's personal experience w/ it. I'd love to know more about REAL LIFE experiences--- good, bad, and ugly ;) The "comparisons" would be interesting as well.

Thanks so much for your response!!

I'm considering using it for the upper grades... I'm not sure if I can swing the cost next year for a 5th grader... and I don't know how structured we are going to be next year with a toddler and new baby... and I'm not sure if it would be a good thing to use or not use when I have my hands full with little ones already... so I'll be looking into it more, too.

"Wake Me Up"~

It does look like it could be a bit "teacher intensive", kwim? If you could swing the money, maybe you could just slow down the pace in order to make it work considering having a toddler and a new baby and your first year w/ TOG??

And I forwarded it to my friend. I'll see her this afternoon, so I can ask if she hasn't gotten to e-mail yet.

My friend loves TOG. She is doing it with a 6th grader, a 4th grader and a first grader. She started it last year, when her eldest was in 5th.

Her conclusion: If you are starting with an older child, that's great. But she doesn't recommend starting it with your K or 1st grader if that's all you have because it's very teacher intensive. She loves it... but it is a lot of work, and she's not sure that her first grader gets that much out of it.

Wow! Thanks for posting this. It looks like a great curriculum. Our oldest is only 7, so I don't think we're ready. I've bookmarked to consider for later though! Thanks again! :tu I hope you find the information you are looking for!

I have a friend who uses it, and feels it is too much for the younger students, but great for older elementary to junior high. She said that she does think it is a well put together, solid curriculum.
