Well I'm trying to learn back carries with my 13mo... She is a wriggler. What do you suggest?

Also, I would like to find another way of doing an outward facing front carry - I use an adapted FCC with the knot tied in front of her (under her armpits).

Thanks in advance!

What kind of carrier do you have? :)

www.mamatoto.org (http://www.mamatoto.org) is where I learned how to do all the ones I use.

Honestly, I could never get the hang of it. I just switched to an Ergo. :giggle

I started the back carry with the mei tai. That way it got dd used to being on my back and I could do it quickly. Once she got used to being on my back and could hang on and not wiggle that is when I started with trying back carries with wraps (she was almost 2). Sorry I am not much help.

I was going to recommend a mei tai as well. Here is a WAHM website with pics and descriptions of the various ways it can be used: http://www.rosiebaby.com/babycarriers.htm

Don't encourage me ladies! :giggle I already have a carrier addiction but can't afford any more - and all the ones I have are homemade or donated to my collection by my mum. :)

Do you have any good instructions for making one? And how much fabric would it take, as I have lots of reasonable scraps in my box...

Thanks again for the ideas. :tu

Oh Mei Tai's are easy to make! I know quite a few moms who made them for themselves. I bet if you googled you could find instructions. Basically you need fabric for the 'pocket' part of the fabric where the child is, and then long strips of fabric for the straps.
