should I try wool

As I'm deciding on a good nighttime system I'm finding fleece to be my ideal choice but a pricy one since I'd need more than one. DD wore wool fine for moths but lately she pulls and cries and gets red where it touches her bare skin, but maybe by then the soaker (woolybottoms) was just too itchy?? Maybe I should give some new wool a try?
