Scones- Recipes
I love scones!
Please post your favorites. I will post my favorites as time allows. This recipe is adapted by me, from my neighbor, who adapted the Buckingham Palace Scone recipe. It is a plain scone, and is chewy on the inside. It is slightly sweet and is not dry. 3 1/2 Cups flour Pinch salt 3/4 Cup butter, cut up 1 Tablespoon baking powder 1/2 Cup sugar 1 egg, beaten 1/2 Cup milk beaten egg This should be really quick. The less you handle the dough, the better. Measure flour, salt and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Cut in butter pieces. Add sugar and mix lightly. Make a well in center of the mixture; add egg and small amount of milk. If mixture appears to be too dry, add more milk. Blend to a nice, smooth dough. Roll out on floured board to 1/2 inch thick, 6 to 8 inch circle. A little thicker is OK. (I use my hands to just pat it out and shape it. I think this recipe makes 2 circles, but I don't remember if it does, or if I just always double it. ) Cut into 6 or 8 triangles. Place on baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg lightly. brush with beaten egg. Bake in 350-degree F oven for 10-15 minutes. Top will be lightly golden. Serve hot.

Re: Scones- Recipes
Supposed to be like Starbucks Pumpkin Scones, I don't know because I have never eaten SB pumpkin scones before.
3 Tbsp half and half 1 large egg ½ cup canned pumpkin 2 cups flour 7 Tbsp sugar 1 Tbsp baking powder ½ tsp salt ½ tsp cinnamon ½ tsp nutmeg ¼ tsp cloves 1/4 tsp ginger 6 Tbsp cold butter These are my own directions. If you need clarification, ask. In small bowl, combine pumpkin, half and half, and egg Combine dry ingredients in large bowl. cut butter into dry ingredients. Will be crumby. Make well in center, add wet ingredients. FOld in (I use my hands for both the cutting in and this step. Messy.) Make dough into 1 inch thick circle. Cut into 6 triangles Place on baking sheet Bake 14-16 minutes at 425 Ice as desired. Here are the icing recipes that were with the recipe Plain Glaze 1 cup plus 1 Tbsp powdered sugar 2 Tbsp. Whole milk Spiced Icing 1 cup plus 3 Tbsp powdered sugar 2 Tbsp whole milk ¼ tsp ground cinnamon 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg pinch ground ginger pinch ground cloves

Re: Scones- Recipes
I made your first recipe today. I added a little bit more sugar and a bunch of cinnamon. Yummy!
Thank you for the recipe!
