Why is she doing this?

My 4.5 yr old Beagle is peeing everywhere (and sometimes pooping, too). She isn't even asking to go out most of these times, either! She's potty trained and crate trained. DH was in the playroom with the kids yesterday and she just squatted right next to his knee and started to pee. If she is put into the kitchen nook (where her crate, water, and bed are), she pees (doesn't ask to go out, just pees). She's usually crated when we eat, but I just started giving her more freedom last week (putting her in the nook, not just in her crate) because I put a baby gate up to separate the kitchen and the nook (J was getting into the water dish, my china, etc). I don't understand why she's going potty everywhere! She's getting plenty of love and attention from us. It's not unbearably cold outside. It's been raining long enough that she shouldn't have any issues with it being wet outside. What gives, dog?

A quick Google search tells me that you should ask a vet.

When our Basset Hound did that she had some female issues that needed to be addressed. I would call your vet in the morning.

The first thing that comes to mind is a urinary tract infection. I would schedule an appointment with the vet soon.

UTI and she had an enlarged uterus that had a really bad infection in it. Did you find anything out yet?

I Googled UTI symptoms and the only symptom she has is having accidents. I'll have DH take her to the vet, though.

Peeing everywhere is the only symptom our dogs ever show...
