The yarn is Sheepjees Whirl the color way is Petrol Please Me. This was only 2.25 balls. Each ball is a kilometer of yarn in it. It is a cotton and acrilic fingerling weight yarn.

(I looked at the yarn and would have you look at some yarn at Hobbii.com they call a similar yarn "twister" If you sign up for their emails or join their facebook page, you hear of really good sale prices. Sadly, it isn't on sale right now, but I got some similar for $15 a skein.) Their shipping is free over $75 order or $7.50 flat rate. They are pretty quick to get it to the States as well.

It is knitted in the round. I cast on either 4 or 6 stitches and then increased out.
