Can I store my sourdough starter in the microwave?
It's unplugged. We haven't used a microwave in almost 3 years but it's built-in so it just sits there.
I have my starter in a glass bowl and covered with a few layers of cheesecloth. The micro is air tight, tho. If I feed it daily and allow it access to air for a bit each day, will it live okay in an unplugged micro? |

Re: Can I store my sourdough starter in the microwave?
I don't think so. It needs the air to breed and become sour IIRC.

It's already got wild yeast so it's sour .. But I think you're right. I'll try leaving the door ajar.
