Re: Have a bread box that you love?
I'm still deciphering all of that.
I know that with homemade bread and unsliced bread, it keeps better in a bread box than any other method. I'm not sure about sliced bread. I buy Dave's Killer bread (sliced, in a bag) as well as unsliced sourdough. I make bread occasionally. I would make it more if I had a bread box, though, because it gets moldy on the counter and stale in the fridge. I got tired of giving homemade bread to the chickens. |

Re: Have a bread box that you love?
A clear box would keep you from forgetting what’s in there, but it would add visual clutter to the counter.

Re: Have a bread box that you love?
Good point. I am quite sensitive to visual clutter.

Re: Have a bread box that you love?
To me that’s one of the benefits of a bread box. You don’t have to see the bread sitting out. Nice and tidy.

Quote:
Typically I have in mine 1) Dave's killer good seed thin sliced bread 2) Dave's killer plain bagels 3)Sola keto bread 4) sprouts sourdough (doesn't upset my gluten sensitive kid) 5) package of tortilla or wraps So much nicer when it's all tucked away than piled on the counter.

Re: Have a bread box that you love?
As far as the question, if the bread is put in the bread box with or without the plastic wrapper, I believe it's with.
Edit: or rather, it's either or. Sent from my SM-A102U using Tapatalk

Re: Have a bread box that you love?
"If you want to store your homemade bread without using plastic wrap or bags, consider investing in a bread box or ceramic container.
Bread boxes provide a zero-waste and sustainable option compared to plastic wrap or a plastic bag. A household staple before the rise of store-bought bread, the bread box (also known as a bread bin) is a container that keeps bread and other baked goods fresh. Ward recommended purchasing a bread box or ceramic container that has a hermetic (air-tight) seal, or else your bread won’t last long. If you have cut or slice the bread, try to store it cut-side down to better preserve that now unprotected portion." https://blog.publicgoods.com/how-to-...omemade-bread/ https://www.thespruceeats.com/best-bread-boxes-5183918 best bread boxes
