Quick question - mashed potatoes in crockpot??

Help needed - can I prepare mashed potatoes a day ahead, refrigerate them, then reheat them in the crockpot? Or do you think that will make them too starchy, clumpy? (I'm cooking for Easter & want to do as much ahead as I can.) Thank you!!
