Prayers for Afghanistan, Haiti, the Border
No Politics, just prayers.
Praying for those in Afghanistan - those trying to get out, those Christians fearing for their lives, the girls who never knew life under the Taliban and will suffer. Praying for the victims of the earthquake and tropical storm in Haiti - that relief can get through the damage, that help can get past the gangs, that disease will not rise. Prayers for those at our Border - for those seeking safety, for those seeking a better life, for those whose job is to process and protect everyone, for protection against the coyotes, protection from the elements, protection against Covid. |

There is just so much going on all at once. Our friends in Haiti are safe. Their region is only mildly affected by the earthquake and the storm. Our last acquaintance made it out of Afghanistan. As of last Monday she still knew foreigners who were trying to get out. We're praying that they made it to their home countries but haven't heard an update. She's only a friend of a friend so I don't know if we'll get an update. One of DH's friends who just left Afg last month reports that one of his home church members got stopped on the street. They checked his phone and found the Bible App and beat him right out in public. He's ok (no permanent damage) but terrified. I can't even imagine. :sick |

My second cousin ( that I don't know well but keep up with online)is one of the troops sent in to help evacuate people in Afghanistan, she is on a crew of one of the airplanes. Yesterday she helped deliver a baby mid flight.

So much to pray for. Thank you for this thread. |
Re: Prayers for Afghanistan, Haiti, the Border
My second cousin ( a different one than the one in the military - this one works in education technology) had been working night and say to help a friend and colleague get out of Afghanistan. It appears that if she can get her self and her children ( 4 and 3 months I think)to the airport tonight that she can leave. Can y'all cover this in prayer.

Re: Prayers for Afghanistan, Haiti, the Border
They didn't make it to the airport lastnight due to a change in what paper work is needed. There are 3 or 4 more days to hopefully be able to make this happen.

Re: Prayers for Afghanistan, Haiti, the Border
My second cousin has still been working to get her friend out. They are trying paying tonight, after doing fundraising, for an armed car to take them to the airport for a chartered flight out of the country in the next 24 hours. Last I heard they were having issues getting money out of the account they set up to wire it internationally for payment.
Praying that this will work. I don't know what country they will end up in. He did everything he could to make this all happen - I don't know if they are all set of getting the money out but they are so so much farther along than they were this afternoon because of this man. Thank God for that man. Still praying for them!

Re: Prayers for Afghanistan, Haiti, the Border
We are getting less updates, which I think means that things are in the works to get them out and they don't want to share and some how mess them up.

Re: Prayers for Afghanistan, Haiti, the Border
Even though they can't give updates things must be moving in a good direction. They got all of the $50,000 together and out of the us banks in less than a week.
I am assuming that the family is out of Afghanistan but in a third country quasi-legally and that is why they are being very very quiet. The baby is under a year old and didn't have any passport which has affected how a lot of this has needed to happen. They are now working on this https://www.spotfund.com/story/e1929...5&created=true Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk |
