The hand sanitizer is used upon entry rather then hand washing because logistically it would be impossible to have 1500 kids wash their hands in a timely fashion at the start of the day.

As far as the school being allowed to require it for entrance, it is a private school in a country that will not hesitate to close the school completely if there are cases of H1N1.
Must it be their handsanitizer? Could you bring your own? I have a great alcohol free recipe (it uses aloe, e.o.'s hydrogen peroxide and glycerin

Here is my favorite recipe

1/2 C aloe
1 t hyrogen peroxide
2 t glycerin
16 drops e.o.'s (I am now using thieves - used to use tto, lav, eucalyptus)

Here is another recipe that I was considering trying cuz it looks a lot cheaper and because I have a huge 32 ounce sanitizer bottle I could use

Fill a 32 ounce bottle halfway with distilled water (I am going to use acidic water but technically distilled is what is recommended)

5 T aloe
5 T hydrogen peroxide
25 to 40 droves thieves oil or other antibacterial/antifungal/antiviral e.o. blend

Fill bottle the rest of the way up with water and shake. DONE!

I split a gallon with someone a few years ago and I am still working on that because it lasts half of forever using only a teaspoon or two each time

You can also get small bottles of glycerin from the drugstores, if you don't want to wait to order it.

Um. . . acidic as in ph . . . because water w/an acidic ph is tremendously good at cleaning and excellent for skin problems, hair problems and many other uses

Well, your link is answering my other question... I assume you have some kind of water machine then?

I buy distilled water because our city water is horrid. Often smells like chlorine or mildew and is just gross. Someday I'd like to get a water system of some kind but we will have to wait until I'm actually making money... hopefully in 2011 that will happen.

i am interested in making that second formula you list. that would be easy and cheap.
i have lavender adn i have tto....would either of those eo's be considered antibacterial?

i also have peppermint, rose absolute, and chamomile.

which would you use of what i have?

i have some aloe that i bought at the drugstore that is for sunburns. it isn't totally pure but it was the b est they had....has no colors or fragrances....pretty good stuff as drugstore stuff goes.....can i just use that?

tia!
