Uses for old bath towels?

I have several bath towels that we received as wedding gifts, and they're understandably getting raggedy by now

Can you think of a use for old terrycloth?

Cut up into rags for cleaning? That's not a hobby or craft though...

We recently donated ours to a pet shelter, along with sheets.

Don't forget to keep one or two for things like hair dye or random funky messes.

I keep a stack for messes and dog drying and donate to a humane society when that stack gets too big.

I've seen something on pinterest where you could cut old towels into squares and sew binding on them. It made for some pretty washcloths but sounds kind of time consuming.

These are great ideas!

I was also thinking, if I can get my sewing machine working, that the heavier towels could be the inner layer of a lap quilt.

But donating them to the pet shelter might be the most realistic option
