Quick: DH Disolcated his finger
Urgent care doesn't seem to be open, DH just dislocated his middle finger playing basketball. He is not happy with the idea of going to the ER but I think he should or can he wait until morning or try something else????

Re: Quick: DH Disolcated his finger
If it were me, I'd yank on it as soon as it happened not give myself time to think about it or the swelling to cause difficulty. It's probably too late for that.
Get ice on it, elevation and high-dose ibuprofen with food to reduce swelling. Compression wrap, if you know how, I'd think you'd need a little experience on a different joint before I'd try it with a finger. After that, IDK, I just know keeping that swelling at bay will make whatever you do next go more smoothly. Get those corn syrup ice packs going. Ice chips will work, but the more oozy your ice pack, the better for something the size and shape of a finger.

Re: Quick: DH Disolcated his finger
He did try to pop it back in but couldn't. We found an urgent care in a nearby town they said it's because it's not dislocated per say but the ligament became separated from the bone so they splinted it and he's to call and orthopedist in the morning.
