Has anyone thought about T giving (vegan ?)
I know it is early but I am going full fledged vegan this year starting this october 21 yeah!!! I have come to the realization that I am still hurting the cows and chickens by eating the eggs and eating some things that contain milk. Anyway I am living with my mother in law again and pretty much have to make my own food (which by the way I am ok with it) I was just wondering if someone can tell me a bit about what you make maybe even some recipies that you do on thanksgiving. I have some egg replacer for any recipie. I thought about trying some of the recipies out before thanksgiving and seeing if I like them and picking and chosing what to do. I figured I would get a tofurkey thing and fix that for myself noone else will eat it but again I am ok with that. Anyway thanks to all.

I found this- breaking the link because I'm not sure if the title of the blog would offend anyone-

Re: Has anyone thought about T giving (vegan ?)
I have a fantastic recipe that I use for both Christmas and Thanksgiving. It's a bit long, but if it interests you I'll send it to you - basically it's seitan (or wheat meat or whatever it's called where you are) covered in gravy, then covered in a layer of stuffing, then in a layer of puff pastry. It can be shaped like a turkey if you want (I don't bother) or made into an oval. It's very attractive and really makes a centerpiece, which is what I was missing. I've been using it for over 15 years now
The other option is to stuff a pumpkin with whatever you like (my original recipe has some kind of rice dish inside) and bake it whole. It turns to a bright green, and the flesh is edible! It's also beautiful. |
