Natural Flavors?
If an ingredient label says "natural flavors", what exactly does that mean? Are they typically vegetarian?

Re: Natural Flavors?
They may or may not be. I tend to just assume that if it's some kind of broth or chicken-flavor thing that it is not, but if I see it on a brownie mix I would assume that they were vegetarian (but not necessarily vegan).

Re: Natural Flavors?
My brother (who is for some reason seriously offended by my vegetarianism)pointed it out on a can of bean dip. It didn't used to be in the ingredients but it is now. He was just looking for something non-veg in it to tell me I was wrong, but it made me think about it.

Re: Natural Flavors?
What's funny is that he went vegan for a month once "to get vegan superpowers." Seriously. But I'm vegetarian for moral, ethical, and health issues, and I'm stupid for doing it. It's not like I'm super strict about it or anything. I just do the best I can. His problem, not mine. But anyway, it did make me think about the natural flavors thing.

Re: Natural Flavors?
raspberry, strawberry and vanilla I know can be labeled as natural flavors, but it's animal derived. Castoreum if you want to find out why, I don't suggest it.

Re: Natural Flavors?
"natural flavors" can mean literally ANYTHING
you have to call the company and they might tell you (they might not know )
