I went today and used my "free" membership money, so I got out of there for $34! Ha!

Collagen is on sale, so I bought two.

When they put things on clearance they're just in the regular sections. So you just have to keep watching. Usually clearance ends in a .97

I've noticed the sharp markdowns go very quickly. For example I bought some Lucky Brand pjs that were clearanced down to $3 but the next day the entire display was gone.

Costco uses price codes.

Regular prices end in .99

Other price endings indicate some sort of special.

My dh does most of our Costco shopping. When he sees an odd price on something we like, he usually snaps it up. With Costco's generous return policy, if something doesn't fit, or work for us it's not a loss.

The asterisk also means something but I can't remember. I think it means that item is discontinued or seasonal.

I believe the asterik means that they won't be getting any more of this item in stock. So what's on the shelf is all that they will have.

For me at least those just include the sales price, not the clearance deals. The clearance deals vary for every location (depending on what they have to get rid of).

Same here. Enough to the point that when I renew, I wonder if it is worth it.

They do almost always have the best gas prices. If I could fill up there every time, it might make it worth it just for that.

My dh is wondering if we should get a membership just for the gas. And maybe the nuts because the ones we get from trader Joe's now have cross contamination for wheat.

We don't have gas available here. But the items that we use a lot of are often WAY WAY cheaper at Costco, expensive items like maple syrup and agave and honey and coconut oil and natural PB, etc. etc.

Actually, there's one with gas about halfway between us. (Near the TV studio.) It's often worth the trek for me.

The Costco Visa card is AMAZING. 4% rebate on ALL gas purchases everywhere except Sam's Club. Right now, that's $0.20 a gallon rebate, at least, for the prices in our area. You must be a member to get the card.

My executive membership still pays for itself. We've gotten great deals on tires at Costco. The annual rebate for the executive membership always covers my renewal fee and then some. So we keep our membership. I don't go often, though, as it's 70 minutes away.

Yes! Our Costco visa card rebate last year covered our septic repairs this spring!
