Favorite no sugar, plain toothpaste
I'm trying to replace my Colgate Total toothpaste since apparently they aren't making it anymore.
I thought I'd try a more natural brand that doesn't taste sweet. I'd really rather it not have flavor. But I'm overwhelmed with googling! There are too many! Anyone have something simple they use? I'd prefer if it were in a paste/tube but I'm willing to look at powders. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk

Re: Favorite no sugar, plain toothpaste
I like Uncle Harry's (Calcium carbonate (natural chalk), sea salt, mustard seed powder, essential oils of peppermint, eucalyptus, clove, wintergreen, and oregano) for powder but the flavor is pretty strong. They do have a lighter version called Children's and a non-flavored.
My favorite is Earth Paste lemon flavor (Water, Bentonite Clay, Xylitol, Sea Salt, Essential Oil (lemon, lemon verbena, tangerine and lime). which is very mild. My husband likes Squigl Tooth Builder (https://www.squigle.com/tbingredients.html) which tastes mildly sweet. |

Re: Favorite no sugar, plain toothpaste
We use Uncle Harry's tooth powder too, and love it! An Amazon review described it as the moonshine of toothpastes, because the taste is so strong, which is really accurate. But I love it! Now if I have to use normal toothpaste, I feel like it doesn't get my teeth as clean because it isn't as strong.

Re: Favorite no sugar, plain toothpaste
I really liked the Earth Paste as well, but....after using it consistently for a while, my next dental checkup had more cavities than when I have used other products. I quit using it after that.

Re: Favorite no sugar, plain toothpaste
I love Uncle Harry's! I switched from Eco Dent powder to Uncle Harry's paste (comes in a jar) and my hygienist said my gums have improved a lot. I have never had her say that (I have receding gums).
The one I buy is spearmint flavor but it's not strong. It is a paste in a glass jar. I also have the powder but I prefer the paste. |
