Re: Help! I stink at decorating!
Here's a good article on ceiling fans. I think I saw the tv episode discussed here and I remember that the people were appalled that the decorator wanted to get rid of their ceiling fan. If a fan is that important, and you know that you like to use an overhead fan, I say keep it or get one. If it will hardly be used, or you find them the least bit irritating (noise, or little stray hairs constantly being blown in your face ) I think a light fixture would probably look nicer.

Good point about the type and quality of fans for sure. We were thinking about them from a practical perspective-moving air around. I just don't have much practice with it. I've never painted a room, redone furniture, etc. and compared to some of my friends who seem to just have an artsy eye, I don't feel like I have that. I want someone to just come in and tell me what will look good where Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Help! I stink at decorating!
I would suggest hardwood and tile floors for your home. You can put area rugs to add up to the accent. Don't forget to consider the railings and stars. In our house, we make the stairs 10 inches apart so you can make it easier for yo ur little one.

Our house is already built It has a high quality hardwood laminate downstairs (which DH sealed today), brand new carpet upstairs, and laminate in the bathrooms. The stairs aren't ten inches apart But we are planning on using rugs in our living room. We are officially moving furniture in on Thursday! Yay! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pretty curtains! Love the color. Are you pleased with the result?

Re: Help! I stink at decorating!
I have a question. If you rotate your piano 90 degrees, would it fit along the wall? I'm not sure how big the space is that you are working with.

I like them a lot better than what we had. I love the teal blue color- this photo doesn't do the color justice. Now I need to start scouring Craigslist and antique stores for nightstands and coffee tables and book shelves Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Help! I stink at decorating!
Well, we have been in our beautiful brand spanking new townhome for a year now...
And it’s still a hot mess. DH basically doesn’t want to spend money on new stuff if we are just going to move in 2-3 years. However, he said he will do it... he just isn’t excited about it, if that makes sense. So, that’s why I haven’t been posting any pictures. Our house looks terrible and is sparsely undecorated. So, I decided that I’m going to be attempting to declutter and organize and get the ball rolling over spring break! 1) new couch 2) ceiling fans 3) dresser for us 4) dresser for Katherine 5) downstairs storage Those are my priorities. Here’s to hoping I have some good pictures to post! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
