Default Math programs...metric or imperial

Do any of the math programs such as horizans, saxon, math u see etc. teach in metric. I mean I know they are American companies but the rest of the world uses the metric system so I thought maybe they produce two versions. Does anybody know about this ....or will I have to buy a Canadian book.

I just have to add that it is so weird that in the UK and Australia it is totally metric except for being weighed in stones.
And where I am in BC it is all metric except of course we refer to our weight in pounds and our height in feet. Also we talk about inches and feet for everyday things but never mention a yard. At the grocery store the signs tell you the price per pound and then when it rings up on the till it is per kilogram. (I secretly believe this is so you can't price check)

Most teach both. Metric is used even in the US for science and it is a good tool for learning decimals. However it is important that they know how to convert in the convoluted sytem we use here as well

It's funny.

Squirrelboy LOVES when there is a measurement lesson in his Saxon book, because we just skip it...he doesn't need to know that 37 gallons = 13 quarts = 5 pints

The only people who use imperial in Australia are people over 60.

And quilters.

I have spent my entire life trying to cope with the dual system going on in the UK - and finally I get myself pretty much metric'd up. (Except for cooking. Far more straightforward and less faffy with imperial measurements!).

Then I move to Australia and take up quilting.

And EVERYTHING is in imperial. The sewing machine is calibrated in imperial, the quilt patterns are in imperial... back to square 1. !!!!!!

Somewhere my children are picking up imperial too. Not from me. I think it's from DIY with Grandpa.

DH knows a bit m ore than me about imperial b/c he reads US based RPG stuff. He tells me a US pint is different from a UK pint??? :wideeyes

I haven't heard anyone describe their weight in stone for a long time, but we all still need to keep both sets of numbers in our heads wrt baby's weight (lb/oz and g). DH's nutition text has a table of baby weights in it converted from a US text. They changed the numbers but forgot to change the headings - so apparently babies can weigh 3565 pounds

loving the examples

They do all cover both, briefly. The main difference is that related concepts, like perimeter, are likely to be done in inches.
