Default DIY Woolies - affordable Fabric

Does anyone sew your own Wool soakers? I've made several over the years with upcycled sweaters. I would like to have some jersey knit wool ones, but the fabric is so expensive. Anyone know of affordable Fabric.

I think this might be the site I remember...it's been a long time, though, so not sure.

https://www.fashionfabricsclub.com/c...rics-wool-knit

There are some remnants that don't show on that page, but do come up if you browse discount, or type wool jersey in the search bar. But they don't seem to get much cheaper than $10-$11/yd. I think I saw one for about $8.50.

I made a ton from sweaters. The ones where you make pants out of the sleeves are incredibly simple. Then you can also do a wrap type cover from the body of the garment. These I found more tricky BUT I have only very rudimentary sewing skills.

I've made a lot from sweaters too.
I like interlock, but it's just too expensive. I'll be sticking with just wool sweaters. It would be nice though.

Nature's Fabrics price is as low as I've ever seen for wool. I always chicken out and don't buy though, because it IS expensive. It does help to divide the cost between how many soakers you'll get out of it and then compare that cost to what it costs to purchase a pre-made soaker. I mean, it's still cheaper than most PUL covers even and is so much nicer and will last SO much longer. You could probably use it for a child or two and then resell and make back the $ the fabric cost.
