Re: Simplify your life challenge.
Today I got rid of 3 glasses that were kind of gunky as they sit in the cabinets above my oven. 5 bottles of medicine that expired way too long ago. Hopefully will be able to give away a juicer and a chopper which have been sitting in our apartment for 5+ years and were almost never used to dh's friend. Plus a slow cooking thing which takes up so much space, also to dh's friend.
1/12 I am getting rid of some maternity clothes today and hopefully some of dh's really old medical books that have been sitting in a closet for 3 years (with his permission, of course). Will that make me get pregnant? That or getting rid of baby clothes?

Re: Simplify your life challenge.
I am really trying to focus on just the one or two thing a day thing, and about it when I do get rid of stuff. But it seems like it is not even making a dent!!
Yesterday: some cute kids shampoo and bubble bath bottles that we saved. Some old medicines Today: Some pantry items a few tubes of face cream

Re: Simplify your life challenge.
yesterday I got rid of several large piles of papers and sorted several files which equaled two garbage bags full of shredded paper...
I cleared the top of the piano which has been serving as catch all for paper work till we got the filing cabinet brought into the house. (when we moved it ended up trapped in the garage) I got the cabinet brought into the house, emptied, and the top drawer sorted. I set up the printer as well. I also cleared out a storage tub full of baby girl clothes and a girlie peter rabbit mobile. (I just had a boy, so I'm not going to be using them ) Who knows what I'll fling today. oh.and I enjoyed that blog as well - thanks for sharing. I've shared it, too. |

Does cleaning out the fridge count? (eggnog, etc.)

I am so in! We are looking for a new home and I only want to bring the things we love and use.
I have been FreeCycling for a year or so now, and am giving away heaps of stuff! Todays offerings: a yoghurt maker I never use a ceramic teapot a ceramic sugar bowl a ceramic milk jug a coffee plunger 2 x ceramic kitchen canisters And for the garbage bin: some assorted sippy cups that have no lids some cracked baby bowls Feels great! More to come ... |

Re: Simplify your life challenge.
I threw out two bags of junk from the boys' room. I would have thrown away more, but as it is out trash cans will be full. And I have two boxes of toys to take to the swap shop, although I might bag them so I can reuse the boxes...

Re: Simplify your life challenge.
Okay, I'm in. I've got three bag fulls of kids toys/clothes to go to goodwill that I pulled out as we got new carpets in the bedrooms.
I've just got to wait until spring to have a garage sale for some of the other, larger toys I'd like a little return of my money for. Things that I picked up at garage sales that I'm going to garage sale back. |
