Default Hankies for family cloth? pip

Would they work? I've never used FC so I really have no idea! I've decided that I want to give FC a go, although at first it'll most likely be just for pee I have a huge batch of old hankies sitting around in my closet, do you think those would work? I thought about them because they are so pretty but they've never been used since I got them. I must have 50 or more, here's a pic to get an idea:

I don't know if they would be thick enough to keep your hands clean unless you double them.

That's what I was thinking. Certainly can't hurt to try though

I think they would not be thick enough. We tore up an old tshirt to give it a go before committing and it would not be thick enough sometimes.

I really want your hankies. Maybe we can swap your hankies for flannel wipes...I just made about 60 for us. (We liked the FC )

Hmm about the thickness. Yeah, I'd most likely be folding them into squares, but I fold TP anyway

I love them too! I just have no idea what to do with them! And having them sitting around in my closet isn't helping anyone. I was thinking that just pee wouldn't be too rough, but I don't really want to wear them out too quickly...but then again, if I use something else to keep my hankies nice, those hankies are right back in my closet doing nutin...

Can you use your hankies for hankies?

They look like polyester, if so, they won't be absorbant.

Novel idea, using hankies for hankies Ran out of tp and instead of running to the store I cut up some white flannel I had, sewed up the edges, washed all the hankies and new FC, threw them in a basket and ta da!

It was right before bed and I crashed before DH did, so he found it looking like this (that's one FC wrapped around the tp dispenser in case he didn't get it Bless his heart, he didn't say a thing other than he almost flushed one. DS woke up with a stuffy nose and used a million hankies already, and took a couple with him to school, he loves them!

Your set up looks great! So dh was cool with it. They can be a little...hesitant.

He's used to my crazy ideas and always goes with the flow I had just been talking about the cost of all of our paper products so I'm sure he saw it coming, lol. However, if we hadn't been doing CDs successfully for years I bet FC would have been a harder sell!

I was just trying to talk to my family about family cloth, and my DH and boys were . SO... my DH said when we build the new house in the mountains, he will put in waterless urinals for him and the boys. That is his compromise.

I love your basket of hankies and white FC squares. So I too need to find a pile of hankies, would love just cotton, but yours are beautiful in the first picture, like a bouquet.
