I just verified that this was originally posted on Monday (3/1) at 1:02pm on the NGJ fan page by "No Greater Joy Ministries."

So, even if he's not directly responding to the Schatz case... it is in incredibly bad taste since he's saying it post-Lydia's death.

As wrong as that article is about whether Pearl's methods are abusive, at least it isn't written in the Nanana BooBoo voice Pearl is writing in. Not a consolation, I know.

The only friend I *know* of who currently follows the Pearls also posted that recently. I really want to post something, but I'm afraid to start something. I dislike confrontation.

I am building a facebook "fan" page this afternoon to contrast true, Bibically supported discipline with the Pearls, be an official statement/educator against them and offer alternatives. I know it's not much, but I really feel led to do so. Maybe it will turn out to be a place to click/go to make the statement without much confrontation, and maybe someone will click on there and be exposed to the Truth

I really love the implication that the only successful people in society are ones that were beaten as a child. You know what would happen if you asked any pediatrician or therapist if being beaten with plumbing supply line as a children is how they got where they are today?

This has made me sad, and this has made me angry. How insulting. How unGodly. How incredibly ungracious.

A little girl was BEATEN to death by one of his followers. Is there no remorse, no shame? Are there no tears for an apparent misapplication of his methods?

My son has never been beaten into submission. He is the kindest, brightest and honest little boy you will ever meet. He loves his parents, and he loves God.

Michael Pearl IMO is infested with demons. There is so my spiritual grossness on him. I just see so much hate in him. It's so sad. I really think this man needs prayers for his soul.

I have several friends, church members and clients who are fans of this site. I knew it before I posted articles raising awareness... but I could not remain silent. I have felt coldness from many of them since... and others have since went on to FAN NGJ AFTER what I posted!

Honestly... it hurts, it really does. I feel lonely and misunderstood... and honestly, appalled. But I wouldn't change a thing because I still know I did the right thing. Even IF a parent wanted to spank... I find NGJ methods on a level WAY beyond the line of acceptable...wrapped up with a pretty bow and making it all the more dangerous in so many ways. His way of speaking is very manipulative with a combination of good ol country boy, but I am no longer fooled. I found his note on laughter very insulting. Has this man ever had a humble moment in his life? I am not calling out for a lynch mob for M. Pearl, but how about stepping back and examining this with the light of the Word? Are his supporters too afraid of doing this? We are called to be like the Bereans, searching Scripture daily to see if the things which they were told were truth. There are many wolves who will prey on well intended sheep... I am just sick with the knowledge that a little girl DIED! If we remain silent we are all guilty. (Additionally) How many other children are horribly abused that we NEVER hear about? I know they are out there. I have to trust that the fruit from speaking out will be worth it.
